Parents have a lot of "one-liners" that have been in use over the years, but we are not so sure if these on this website are still in existence. For example, encouraging the kids "to eat all their food", with the high cost of groceries, there may not be that much on the plate.

We've long advocated getting our families away from their home entertainment centers and getting them into live theatrical performances. Hollywood Bowl, Mark Taper and Kirk Douglas Theaters have offered amazing discounted opportunities. Recently we sent a representative to attend a Diversity in the Theater Forum held at the Pasadena Playhouse.
Talk About Parenting believes diversity in performances is important but we also believe diversity in audience is equally important and suggest the Pasadena Playhouse develop a program that offers cost assistance for low-income families to attend performances.

Asthma is Blowing in the Wind...... It's that time of year when asthma comes crawling from the cracks and crevices, the blowing dust and the floating pollen..... If you're the parent of a child who continually has a stuffy nose, has a hard time breathing, and is always tired......More >>> | Microwave and Frying Pans..... We were taught the expected standards of behavior and, just as important, we learned what was going to happen when we crossed the line. You've heard the expression, "Be careful what you ask for, you may get it!". We got it! Incarcerated moms spread the word about our classes at the prison and we had a waiting list of almost 200. We opened an additional class AND then when our last class graduated, the participants asked for more.
We now have Parent Puzzle 101 for new participants and 201 for moms who've graduated. We are also presenting classes focusing on the foster care system and parental rights.
Our classroom volunteer was accepted into graduate school. We've posted on volunteer match for a replacement. Do you know of someone who is interested?
