Steering in the right direction.....

The USC Government and Civic Engagement Academic Partnerships Program - Marshall School of Business selected our organization to participate in its program. Thanks to 3 fantastic teams of students for developing social media, fund raising and board recruitment strategies, we are now in the process of developing a whole new bounce to our step.

Best memories while growing up.....
time with grandparents, ice cream treats, summertime showers with the lawn hose.
Worst memories while growing up......
parents using drugs, beatings, sexual abuse, foster care.

Pacific Clinics offers mental healthcare and behavioral therapy for children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and the homeless at locations throughout Southern California. This is an amazing opportunity in extending our involvement with families.  Visit Pacific Clinics website to learn more.

Poverty Tour Mentality Comes to CALTECH
.......Tavis Smiley brought his Poverty Tour mentality to Pasadena, but only a handful of people showed up - about 100 in Caltech's Beckman Auditorium that holds 1,155.  Maybe he should have stopped by the northwest side of town, where poverty has been lurking for decades and where the residents don't see their plight as something new or newsworthy...... Scapegoat Spotted On Orange Grove..... Like the Latino man in the alley who I watched get cuffed and shoved into a squad car while the blond-haired assailant was left afoot, if Chief Sanchez has his way in focusing on Carrillo's cell phone call, his officers will be left afoot to shoot down more unarmed young black men......
