Thanks to the office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, 15 folks received comp tickets to the famous Hollywood Bowl for "Fleisher Plays Ravel". Kind of a hard sell for our youth who aren't into the classics - but just to stretch the imagination, Brandi Armstrong went online for a little research and sent out her own "master piece" to our party of 15. Brandi discovered Ravel wasn't so bad after all because it was actually his music that she enjoyed listening to ........ read more.
Cirque Du Soleil will make the Kodak Theater in Hollywood their home beginning summer 2011. We were invited to a preview reception and tour of the upcoming "IRIS" production, a journey through the world of cinema. Why are we telling this? The production company is very involved with community, and our families have been treated to complimentary tickets for other productions, so hold on and watch our website for theater dates!! |

"My grandson was on his way to college, just about to leave, and all too quick he, all of a sudden, needed to make a court appearance. Not possible to be in two places at the same time and no matter that I called everywhere, nobody could tell me of a lawyer. But Shirlee Smith, Talk About Parenting, had a referral. My grandson left for college and the lawyer showed up for him at the court."

| VOTE and take your children - no matter how young - to the polling place with you. Voting requirements and deadlines are determined state by state, so go on-line (smartvoter.org) and get the details. Talk with your teenagers about ballot measures - it's not really necessary to place your mark next to everything on the ballot - an ignorant vote is worse than a no vote. Discuss with your kids about the candidates and measures you have an interest in - and you may discover that the kids have some useful questions, insights and opinions. |
